A little bit about us

Hello!
Trustworthy Nanny/Babysitter Wanted! We're a loving family in Killeen, TX, seeking a reliable and caring nanny/babysitter to join our team! We need someone to assist with evening bus routines on workdays, given our unique schedules and sometimes weekend- my husband works 2 weeks on and 1 week home, while I work rotating shifts (6am-6pm) alternating between 3 days on/2 days off and 2 days on/3 days off each month.
Responsibilities include getting kids off the bus, providing after-school care, including homework help, cooking meals on some days, and engaging in activities. We're offering $14-15 per hour. If you're a responsible, caring individual with reliable transportation who enjoys working with kids, please send a message with your experience and availability ASAP.

A little bit about us

My name is Tashanda. I am an active duty soldier in the military. I have 3 children and a dog. My children are self sufficient and are beautiful souls. I am currently separated and going through a divorce. With that being said I am trying to get back to me and enjoy life more. This includes more traveling and it's hard for me to do that because I have a limited support system since my family is far away. I will not need child care often but I will need it when I decide to take trips. Responsibilities would be pet care but that would be minimal because my children understands how to take care of a dog. Pick up and drop off may be needed but that is on a case-by-case basis. Being able to drive and cook is a must. Being able to perform CPR or any kind of medical procedures if an incident occurs is a must as well.

Types of Nanny Jobs and Nanny Responsibilities in Texas

Before you start looking for a nanny job, it's essential to learn about the different types of nannies and how they compare to each other so that you make sure you’re looking for the right opportunities.

The different types of nanny jobs have different nanny responsibilities. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. However, in general, a nanny is responsible for making sure the children's needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to make sure your expectations are aligned with the family.

There are temporary nanny jobs, even seasonal nanny jobs like summer nanny jobs. Beyond seasonal and temporary nanny positions, there are differences between full-time and part-time nanny jobs. The primary difference being the number of hours you spend at your nanny job every week. For full-time nannies, there are options for live in nanny positions and live-out positions in Texas. Live-out positions are more common, but each family has their own set of needs that require different types of care, and live in nanny positions can be exactly what some families want. If you're looking to explore live in nanny positions, it's even more important to create a shared set of expectations around hours, responsibilities, and what is expected of you when you're not on the clock.

  • How do you handle problems that arise behaviorally and emotionally with kids this age?

Beyond answering questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative.
