More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

The last year I was given the opportunity to work with Cook’s Children Ophthalmology! This included many days helping do vision exams, keeping the kids occupied waiting for their exams, and also comforting those who may have been scared or struggling with the exams. I also have experience coaching with a tiny-tots gymnastics program (ages 1-4) and it was so much fun! It was more of a parent led class, so we worked closely with the parents and toddlers to ensure a good and safe time while practicing some skills!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some indoor activities I enjoy doing with children include reading books, coloring, doing learning exercises, watching a movie, and also playing. Outdoor activities I would enjoy doing with children are going to the park, going for a walk or swim, playing with bubbles, going to the zoo/ aquarium, and much more!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing to me about nannying is making the kids feel comfortable and connected. I always make sure that everything we do is something that they like doing and not crossing boundaries. I also think that another important thing about nannying is also having a good relationship with the parents/ adults and building trust. I like to connect with the families on a personal level, not just on a working level. Although I am there to do a job, I think relationships and personal connections are what make nannying so special.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for a spectrum of children with special needs. I attended the Compass Colleyville Church, where I help minister children with special needs and I would have to say it’s the most rewarding experience ever. I know special needs children need a lot more one on one guidance, so I work closely with some of the same kids and have built strong and close relationships.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I’ve been nannying for 2 years for a family that has 3 year old twin boys, and one of my favorite moments with them have been taking them to the aquarium and them having such a blast. They were so tuned in on all the animals and it was a great time. At one point I took them into the gift shop and got them both a big whale plushie and I had no clue that they had made any noises until we were in the car and I just hear the loudest, most awkward whale noise coming from the backseat and the twins just thought it was the funniest thing on earth.
