More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a lead two year old teacher for two years at KinderCare before I was married. After I had my first child I took care of my cousin's baby for most of his first year. Then I took care of my niece for most of her first year. After having my second child I became a stay at home mom and raised my two children. They are now 20 and 17. Most recently I have been working at Primrose School as the lead Infant teacher. I really enjoy spending my day with all of my students, but am looking to spend more one on one time with up to three children and have a more close relationship with just one family!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy going to the library and picking out stacks of books to read. Doing art projects and learning activities with things laying around the house! I look forward to spring and summer time so we can explore outside!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a Nanny means being reliable and trustworthy. I don't take the role lightly. I realize It takes an enormous amount of trust to let someone come into your home and take care of your precious child/children. I think my three greatest qualities as a Nanny would be reliability, compassion and patience. I have been taking care of children in one way or another since I was 13 years old. At 47, I am a mature Nanny with years of life experience to help in my everyday role as your Nanny. I am not one to shy away from getting on the floor to play with blocks or going outside to play in the dirt. I love to sing out loud or use a silly voice when reading stories to your child. The most important part about being a nanny...
When I was a two's teacher we got a box filled with packing peanuts. I got the hairbrained idea to let the children play with the packing peanuts. I didn't realize they would come apart into tiny snow like bits and I had a large mess on my hands! The children had a great time though and it remains a great child care memory for me!
Another more recent memory was when a mother and an older gentleman came to pick up baby S. for the day. He had just woken from a nap and we walked over to his crib to get him. The mother told me the gentleman was baby S’s grandfather from Colombia and he had traveled to meet him for the first time! I stood there and got tears in my eyes as I witnessed this precious moment!! The mother of baby S was touched by my emotion and later told me she knew her baby was in good hands with me!
