Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been babysitting for about 9-10 years. I was known as the neighborhood babysitter and continued to be called Miss Elena(what the kids and families refer to me by). I’ve worked in church nurseries and Sunday school programs as well. Last year, I was an after school program assistant at the Hub Argentine in Kansas City. Although my school schedule would not permit the same hours of commitment they needed, I continue to volunteer during when I can.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Baking, cooking, outdoor games, crafting, creating fun research projects. Some examples of research projects include important people, countries or animals. I also enjoy making up little mystery’s or scavenger hunts!

My experience with special needs children...
Although I have only had a few babysitter jobs working with special needs children, I am open to learn new skills needed to care for the special needs of conditions I have not worked with. I am currently in nursing school and am learning the basics of caring that could be useful when caring for special needs individuals.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Although it’s not a single moment: my favorites moments tend to happen on days when the kiddos are having a rough time. Maybe they are frustrated or sad. In these moments I try to get to their level and sit down with them. And when I can get them to talk through their feelings. My favorite part is when they are able to work through their emotions and they can start to be happy again and enjoy whatever activity we were working on.
