I am a professional nanny and previously have worked as a nanny for over 10+ years. I am also a Mom who has raised her children so, I know the challenges of raising children. After raising my children I wanted to utilize the vast amounts of experience I have acquired including the experience of working with various ages (newborn to teen years)and multiple numbers of children in a family. I specialize in Newborn Care from the moment a baby is born and comes home. I assist mom, dad and baby transition from hospital to home. This is a "trying" period for a family especially, if they are first time parents. It is also comforting to have someone who has the experience and knowledge in helping with their little one. I like knowing the experience I bring to a new family helps them to undertake their role as parents. Previous experience has been in after school programs tutoring Kinder through Fifth graders. Providing extra curricular age appropriate activities such as computer lab, reading theater, crafting and sports programs. Other experience is as a Lead Teacher in a Preschool setting(16 plus) newborn(6 weeks/toddlers)and the 2/3 age group. I do have a degree from Cal State San Bernardino in Liberal Studies (Education and Child Psychology). While conducting my field studies (Teaching Credential Program), I had the opportunity to work with ESL Program's (English as a Second Language)with students, who came from other countries and had to be taught English in order to participate/ advance in their classes. I loved the challenges, rewards, and felt great pleasure in making a difference in a child's life. I have previous training utilizing the RIE Method at a families request(child is allowed to be independent at their own time/in their own way). I also have an AA in Liberal Studies/Early Childhood Development from College of The Desert, Palm Desert, CA. I do have current certification in Pediatric CPR/First Aid, vehicle does have current/full insurance coverage mandated by the state. I also have experience in areas such as assisting in every phase of running a home, (errands, doctor appointments, grocery/clothes shopping, planning / preparing meals, after school tutoring / activities, personal assistant to parents) making sure all phases of children / home needs are met while the parents are away for extended periods of time. The main priority of course are the children. I am able to utilize time-management skills effectively. I will accept live-in/live out assignments and believe in providing 110% commitment. The trust parents put in me to assist them with their children while they are out of the home is an honor. The main factor as a nanny is having compassion, warmth, understanding, and a huge sense of humor.

I started with child care services when I was old enough to babysit. I have always enjoyed all ages of children. My experience includes private home daycare, and organized group daycare. I have experience with “special needs” children and different size families. During my position with a autistic boy, I was responsible for giving him medication and carefully watching him. Getting to know the families I have worked for is one of the best benefits in this job. Working for larger daycare centers like PlayWorks was a great way to learn the importance of safety, cpr, nutrition and structure play. The downside of larger daycare centers is that I worked with different children every day, which wouldn’t allow me to really get to know them. I understand that all children are different, and getting to know them better helps make a big difference if everyone’s happiness. Theirs and mine! I have taken care of infants, toddlers, pre-school age and grade school age. I have learned to combine activities so that everyone can participate!

I have two younger siblings and many young cousins whom I have had the opportunity to watch after often. I have been babysitting ever since I was old enough to watch children, and I have had a variety of responsibilities with all ages of children. I can cook meals, clean the house, do laundry, etc. I have experience in babysitting children who are disabled (mentally & physically) or have learning disabilities. I have been a camp counselor at elementary and youth camps many times, for up to three weeks at a time. I have also babysat children in other countries, in a variety of social settings and circumstances. I have also had experience teaching and assisting in Sunday school classes at church. I also sing and play guitar, piano and flute. I am a huge fan of slim to none television and other electronic entertainment, and I always do my best to create an adventurous and creatively stimulating environment for children. I believe that when they have the ability to express themselves and use their gifts and talents in their every day lives, they grow into experienced, adventurous, capable individuals who have much more fulfilling lives than those who were raised in front of a TV! I love to invest in children's lives, by being actively involved and committed to their development. Thank you for reading!

I moved to California from Seattle Washington almost 5 years ago, where I was working as a full time nanny. I had been working there for almost a year when I made the decision to move to california. When I started with the family they had one child who was about one year old and when I left she was 2 and they were expecting their second child. I absolutely loved this job. Whenever I visit Seattle I still babysit for them. Shortly after moving to L.A. I started working for a family with a one year old and I had been very happy, however due to the economy, they were no longer able to keep their domestic helpers and I was laid off. The family was very kind though and found me temporary work with some of their family friends until I found my current job. I have been working for my current family for over 3 1/2 years. It is a single father household with 2 children, a boy now 12 and a girl now 10. I have been very happy working with this family, but as the children are reaching ages where they are becoming more and more self reliant, they don't need a full-on nanny anymore. My job is becoming more of a split position, nanny/family assistant. After a long hard decision I have decided that my skills are better used for younger children. As sad as it will be to say goodbye to this family I know that I will, like with all my other families still be in contact for a long time! I have also always had a small circle of families that I nanny/babysat for on and off for several years. The ages ranging from infants to 12yrs, and up to two children at a time. I was also lucky enough to experience my youngest sister's birth when I was a freshman in High school. In our family we believe that it takes a village to raise a child and I took great joy from helping to raise her from infant to present (17yrs). I also graduated from and taught at a Culinary Arts school Where I taught people of all ages.

February 2009 - January 2012 I have three years of nanny experience for two girls - a newborn and 1 year old. They where in my full care from 5am - 3pm M-F. I prepared their meals, prepared formula, bathed, dressed, and change diapers. I always clean up after the children. Our day started with a walk to the local park, watched them and made sure they where safe at all times. I would take them to scheduled activities when they where older. I would read to them, paint, build, teach and nourish them. A family member moved in therefore they where not able to keep me. I occasionally watch the girls. April 2012 - July 2012 I also worked as a part time mothers helper.. Caring for the children, bottle feeding, diaper changing, helping with naps. Singing, reading, playing and interacting with the children to help further their development. Cleaning up after them, washing and sterilizing baby bottles, picking up toys, always keeping the rooms tidy. The boys - 8 months and a 3 year old. I was there to help the mom when she was working and going to school. Unfortunately this lasted approximately 3 1/2 months. They moved out of town. I have a lot of love and patience for your child. I am punctual, detail oriented, dedicated to my work, reliable and trustworthy. I have a great attitude in life. October 2012 - May 2013 I worked as a full time Nanny for a 7 month adorable boy, and a 2 ½ year old beautiful little girl. For the boy, bottle feeding, diaper changing, helping with naps. Singing, reading, playing and interacting as well as helping with the process of walking. I always was there for the children to help further their development. Parks and walks where a big part of his day. As the girl, I administered a breathing treatment every morning also as needed. Dressing for school, potty training. I prepared breakfast. When she came home, provided snacks, bathed her, prepared meals for her. Then we sat down and did educational activities. I also cleaning up after them, washing and sterilizing baby bottles, picking up toys, always keeping the rooms tidy.
