I have worked with numerous families in the greater Houston to Heights area, for many years, including abroad. So therefore, I have extensive experience to care for your loved ones.

I have been a Primary Care Provider for the past 14+ years, and have cared for newborns to teenagers. All have had different types off caring needs, many were challenging, others were very well mannered, and all were hyper and adventurous. Very fun families to work with over the years. I enjoy working with kids, they make me happy.

I am the type to always keep a close eye on whomever I'm looking after, clean up messes to prevent anything from going wrong, and I'm trustworthy.

I'm here to protect your child/teen, and to make them enjoy the time their parents/guardian are away.

I have 3 sisters, and 1 brother. All younger than me. Two of my sisters are in the process of finishing up school so they can move on to college. The other attends UofH. It's very exciting for my family and me to see everyone growing up. Patience, involvement and guidance is the key to help them strive and achieve all their aspirations in life.

Teenagers want a friend, but of course there must be the certain point where you have to put your foot down and know when to say no.
<bra>
For younger children, I do not spank, scream, or raise my voice in any matter. There is a certain tone and strategy you must use to get there attn. It's certainly not by screaming ones head off. Time outs are used if only the parent agrees.

Play time is essential everyday, I can cook/extensively clean, fold laundry, get things organized if you need help in that area. Homework/projects gets done on a timely matter, that way when you get home.. all you have to do is look over it. Snack times, controlled TV shows, computer, and video games are all a part of every typical family's home. As is taking the children outside for bike rides, a dip in the pool, basketball, soccer, theatrical plays, theaters, kid friendly places, parks, anywhere you approve.

For a little over a year now i have been taking care of 3 energetic kids ( a boy and two girls). The boy is 13, the two girls are 6 and 2. During this year of taking care of the kids i would start the day off by cooking breakfast, getting them ready for school, which included ironing, making sure their teeth were brushed, making sure all proper school work was in their backpack and doing the 6 year old 18 inch long hair! The son was eventually homeschooled. During his homeschooling months he would sometimes stay home with me and i would have to administer his lessons to him as well as teach him and check over his work. I started off only sleeping over at their house a couple of days out of the week but when the parents became more comfortable ( because they had never had someone stay at their house before) they would go on their business trips leaving the kids with me weeks at a time. I was responsible for them full time, which included taking them to school, baseball practice, cheerleading practice, girl scouts, and weekend activities such as the library, skating, going get ice cream, and shopping for clothes. During the kids school hour i would set up play dates for the 2 year old. At that time she was only 1. She and i would go on park and library expeditions. Daily we worked on shapes, colors, numbers, and alphabets. Book reading was her favorite. I had her on a strict schedule that we followed just about everyday except of those days when another chore such as grocery shopping lapsed with something. During the day i also had household duties that had to be completed such as dishes, laundry, mopping/sweeping, and basic cleaning. I begun working for them in Beaumont,Texas we have currently moved to Houston. Keeping their kids was my first experience with such a job. I have always had a passion for kids so when the opprotunity presented itself i did not hesitate. My experience for the first time i would have to say i loved!

I began babysitting for multiple families for children of all ages when I was between the ages of 13-18. I also consistently worked with babies, toddlers, and children of all ages through the church child care services and as a part time leading tours. Working with children and providing a fun, safe, learning environment came second nature to me much thanks to being the oldest of four much younger siblings who would most definitely give me outstanding personal recommendations! After college, I started a photography company in which I dealt mostly with children, families, and brides. I still photograph on the side and would love to take professional photos for you as a perk for choosing me. :) During this time I also married and had a son of my own! He is an extremely sweet, friendly, intelligent little angel and is currently enrolled in kindergarten. Raising my child keeps me on my toes and gives me the most thorough and rewarding childcare experience. I consider myself extremely experienced in every aspect of childcare through my 5 years as a mom, assisting my own mother home-school my 4 siblings, and my early years babysitting through the church and leading children's history groups. ***updated: I also now have hands on nanny experience for a six month old and two year old from a family that I found on this website. The mother is now a stay at home mom, but would be able to provide a reference for me. I had such a wonderful experience with her!!

I started working with children at my church in 2005. I started as a volunteer and then soon after was placed in a position with the child care. I watched over all ages. I also volunteered as a Kindergarten choir helper with my Aunt (the instructor) until 2010. In 2008 I started my first part time Nanny position. I worked with a family in Friendswood while still going to school. I helped out with laundry, cleaning, light cooking and transferring the children to and from after school activities. While going to school and taking some basic classes I worked in retail at Kohls and continued to volunteer at my church. In 2011 I started working with a family friend of mine as a caregiver to their Grandmother. I was responsible for laundry, cooking, cleaning, occasionally caring for dog on the weekends when they would be out of town, and occasionally transferring her to and from appointments, grocery store and any where else she needed or wanted to go. After my family friends Grandmother passed in April of 2012, I moved to Katy area where I started working for a family of 5. I was a Full time nanny for the family and helped out with laundry, cleaning, organizing and taking the children to and from activities. In January of 2013 I started working for a family with two small children. The ages were 1 year and 5 years of age. During the day the 5 year old attended school where I would drop off and pick up each day. She also had swim team classes where I also took her to. I watched over the 1 year old during the day. I would take her to Baby time, story time, and anything that the parents thought that would be good for her with other children. I was responsible for laundry, dishes everyday, picking up & organizing.

My husband and I both work full time. My husband, Frank, works from home most of the week and stays in his downstairs office. Myself, Payton, I work away from home. Our son, Sid is 1 1/2 and a pretty cool kid that loves to be around anyone and everyone. Our nanny, Kayleigh, is available Monday-Friday 40 hours a week. Kayleigh has many years of experience in teaching, education, and child care. She is very creative and does a fantastic job teaching, training, disciplining, and getting out of the home for activities! We are a very relaxed family and only stay busy with work or being with our son. We are looking for a family to join in on the fun and wanting a special place for their kid to grow. Feel free to ask any questions!

What are some common responsibilities for nannies in Houston, NY?

As a parent, it’s natural for you to ask your nanny for a little extra help around the house. However, the boundaries for a nannies duties vary from person to person. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met. This includes things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active, that they have a healthy diet and a sanitary home. When tasks go beyond child care, for example scrubbing kitchen counters, folding laundry, gathering groceries, or teaching a language, you will likely need to provide additional compensation.

How can I ensure I have a great relationship with my nanny?

To start, it’s important you set expectations and are aligned on compensation from day one. This includes outlining vacation days, a protocol for sick days, and everything else you would want your own employer to cover. From here, spend time getting to know them. Take your nanny out one of Houston’s great restaurants, learn about their childhood, and discuss your parenting philosophy. Finally, be sure to resolve conflicts as they arise. Open communication is crucial to ensuring a healthy long-term relationship.
