Saia F. - Seeking Work in Portland

Part-Time Available Nanny Saia in Portland, OR

A little bit about me…Hey Ya'll, My name is Kesaia , but I go by Saia. Just a little bit about myself :)
I am a 22-year-old black indigenous poet, doula, care worker, artist, and activist. I am passionate about early childhood education, reproductive justice and LGBTQA+ rights.
My most previous job was working as a teacher at the Childroots Early Learning Center in SE Portland, where I was working with ages 15 months to 24 months. I have over 5 years of experience working with small to large groups of children age newborns to pre-teens. That being said I have a deep love for infant care and would love to grown with a family.
I completely enjoy every moment I spend with children I care for. Some of the activities I enjoy doing with the children are dancing, expressive play, singing, reading. I feel it is important to create space for children to be themselves and further their developmental skills through autonomy, compassion and open communication.

More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were…I have been an ELC teacher for 6 years at different centers across Oregon. I will be happy to bring references and my resume to interviews! I am also a doula in training I have extensive knowledge on preborns and new borns!
Activities I enjoy doing with children…I am big on anything art, I explained a bit in my brio but my main focus is to really see what the children are interested in and create an environment where they can experience and explore their interests; as well as inspiring expressive and autonomous play. I also love sensory play that appropriate for the age of the child I’m with and lots of outside time rain or shine!
The most important part about being a nanny…I resigned as a in center teacher due to covid and the risks of being in the classroom. The most important part of being a care worker/nanny is, communication, trust and a love for the little humans I work care for. Making sure the children know that I am there for them and you as parents know your children and yourselves will be supported while I’m working for you.
My experience with special needs children…I have experience working with children with Autism, ADHD and Cerebral Palsy.
My favorite nanny moment…I haven’t been a nanny but I do have a favorite moment at my last center. I had taught the kids a new song and it had been about two weeks and when we sat for morning meeting they were all singing the song I taught them with the hang gestures and everything: it was such a warm moment.
