I’ve never really been paied to babysit by anyone except for my mom..but her friends often ask me to watch their kids and I always make sure that they are well taken care of and safe in my care!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love finding safe and entertaining ways to play with kids while also helping them learn. I stray from using electronics, unless I know the family is comfortable with the occasional game or youtube video. I’m able to help with homework, playtime, and other just about anything else!
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important thing is not only having a good loving relationship with kids, but also the parents. Parents need breaks sometimes and it can be worrisome or hard to leave kids with complete strangers, thats why I try my hardest to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable in my presence. Discovering kids boundaries and learning how a family does things is something I learn very fast and I find important, especially if I am being given the responsibility of caring for your children!
My experience with special needs children...
My brother has a rare condition called Septo-Optic Dysplasia. I’m able to give him medicine, foods, and liquids through his G-tube. I consider myself able to deal with special needs children quite well, and though I wouldn’t be completely comfortable being left ALONE, if a family member is in the same area, I’d be capable of helping with responsibilities.
