I love being outside as much as possible and think the "outdoor classroom" is the most impactful space for learning. I love to go on nature walks, go swimming, explore parks and play areas and play in the snow. Indoors I love reading, building forts, creating obstacle courses, baking, making slim and doing art projects!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Consistency and compassion. I want to be a stable and loving presence in their lives. I believe in follow through and boundaries. I believe strongly that kiddos need space to feel and express their emotions and I am very comfortable holding that space and helping them navigate and understand what they are experiencing. I want them to feel empowered and safe to share, express, and explore their feelings with me. It is very important to me that they can trust me.
My experience with special needs children...
I studied Behavior Therapy in my undergrad at the University of Minnesota and worked in the field with children on the Autism spectrum for 2 years after graduating.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The time I took my littlest to the river and we swam and splashed in our clothes, not worrying about getting wet or dirty. We just focused on having fun and being silly!
