I’ve raised three amazing children and am now an almost-empty nester. Would love to be able to provide the kind of help that I wish I could’ve had when I worked outside the home and had young kids.

I love dogs and am very comfortable with all breeds and sizes. No objections to cats but I’m definitely a dog person.

I’m a non-smoker and am only interested in working in non-smoking homes.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Besides experience with my own children and grandchild, I’ve volunteered with foster children as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). I’ve also coached youth sports.

Note that CASA’s undergo rigorous background checks including fingerprinting, criminal checks and driving record checks.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love parks, walks, biking, games, coloring, arts & crafts, libraries, reading, singing, zoos, nature centers, museums, flying kites - I'm up for anything that children enjoy.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Most important is obviously keeping the child(ren) alive and safe! Also important:
- dependability
- consistency
- reliability
- integrity
- following the routine that the parents have established
- having a sense of humor while enjoying and appreciating the time with the child(ren).

My experience with special needs children...

One of the foster youths I mentored for CASA was autistic and minimally verbal. She knew some ASL, so between that and using a lot of hand gestures and facial expressions we were able to communicate.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Not really a nanny moment but one time with my CASA youth who was minimally verbal I took her to the beach and I rented a tandem bike for us. She was 8 but had never learned to bike. Once we got going and were cruising along, from behind me I heard her yell out “Happy!”. 🥹
