I’m married, and I’m in my late 20s without kids of my own so I am always available at times when I am needed. I live in Salem and love the parks and community here. I love being in nature when I can and enjoy cooking, cleaning, and reading.
I’d be a great match for your family because I love playing with children, watching them grow, encouraging their creativity and I’m fun and personable!

A little bit about me
Although I don't have formal professional experience as a nanny, I have a genuine passion for spending time with children and creating fun, meaningful days together. I love arts and crafts, whether it's painting, paper crafts, or going on fun nature hunts. I'm happiest when we're outside exploring nature or going to a park and playing in the fresh air.
Because I have cooking experience, I would be able to help make lunches and snacks for your little ones. Im also a big animal lover, having 2 cats myself I would love to help with any family pets you might have!
I'm reliable, patient, energetic, and truly enjoy making everyday moments special for little ones. I'm a quick learner and would love the opportunity to bring joy, creativity, and care to your children while supporting your family's needs.

A little bit about me
I returned to college later in life to complete my education after putting it on hold to raise my family. I am no stranger to juggling multiple tasks at once. Helping with homework and doing crafts brings me joy. I miss singing silly songs and reading books together with my own children. Gardening is a cherished hobby, and I always treasure the time I spend with my family.

A little bit about me
I have experience in the Montessori classroom as an assistant as well as the lead teacher. I went to Montessori Northwest in Portland for my Montessori Teacher Training from 2018 to 2020.
In addition to working in the classroom, I was a nanny for an 8 month old baby for a year and a half and have babysat many children of all ages.
I’m hoping to find a family that would like a Montessori style nanny that fosters independence, exploration, and a love for learning. My favorite things to do with kids are singing songs, playing language games, reading, and playing outside. I find that kids really enjoy any activity that has to do with self care if presented in the right way. I love how proud they are when they learn to do something new for themselves.

I'm a community health worker with over a decade of experience working as a nanny, D.O.S certified local coordinator working with high school exchange students, and a certified mental health tech in elementary schools. I got my start working with kids volunteering with the Head Start program, and have been working primarily with special needs kiddos ever since.
I am from the PNW but am new to the Salem area and am looking to pick up some part-time nannying work as I finish my CHW certification. I am free for school and appointment pick up/drop offs, tutoring, meal prep and light housekeeping and come with great references!

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Salem, OR
Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.
From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Salem can impact how much you pay your babysitter.
Salem Babysitter Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a babysitter?
- What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Oregon?
- Do you have a Oregon driver’s license? Do you own a car?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!
And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
