"She is extremely capable, she can cook, clean, shop, do laundry, organize on top of being a very kind, conscientious caregiver. She is beyond patient, she has a gift to understand needs of children and also elderly. She has done both for me. She is honest, hard working and the ones in her care feel the love and connection she has for them. Whoever she is caring for, they feel like Ally is family, not just a job. I KNOW you’ll be beyond happy with Ally, she is truly gifted in caregiving."

A little bit about me

Hi, I’m Meg!
I’ve always loved working with kids, and I’ve spent the past year as a nanny. Before that, I was a caregiver and nanny for a family with a daughter who has special needs, and I cared for their younger children as well during my senior year of high school. I’m also a licensed nail technician and have experience as a pediatric dental assistant, which has taught me patience, attention to detail, and how to help children feel comfortable and supported.
I’m very family-oriented, love spending time with friends, and enjoy anything adventurous. I truly value creating a positive, fun, and safe environment for the kids I work with, and I’m excited to get to know your family!

"Megan had a complicated job and she did wonderfully. I run a SAS program through my home to staff and manage my special Needs daughter. My daughter has several special Needs. She is non verbal and she needs lots of therapy throughout the day for speech, physical, feeding, and occupational. Megan was great at following all the many steps to help Maintain the goals we had set for my daughter to be engaged and to always be working on learning and improving skills. My girl needs help with everything. Daily medication and toilet of through out the day is also a big task. My employees have a lot to juggle and manage. I also have a total of 5 children with my special daughter being the oldest. For my best employees like Megan I would trust them to also manage my baby and toddlers so my husband and I could go out on dates. Megan handled all this with Grace. She is a delight to have in your home. She is loving and kind to all my children. We loved having her on our team! Sad she moved."

How to Find a Babysitter in Vineyard, UT

Nanny Lane is a child care website meant to help you find a babysitter in your area. Our child care services include background checks, PLUS, and payroll.

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Vineyard, UT

Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.

From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Vineyard can impact how much you pay your babysitter.

Vineyard Babysitter Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a babysitter?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Utah?
  • Do you have a Utah driver’s license? Do you own a car?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!

And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
