A little bit about us

Hi there! We have a 3 month old baby boy and are seeking part-time help at our home in Palm Springs, CA.

We would love someone who has availability during the week and weekends, though we wouldn't use you every day of the week. We have lots of indoor space to play, plus a backyard and pool, and a beautiful neighborhood to take walks around when it's not too hot outside.

Sometimes one of us travels for work so it would be great to have coverage for a few consecutive days when that is the case.

Otherwise, maybe twice weekly for a couple hours a day to get in the swing of having someone here to help with the baby.

Currently there aren't any pick-ups or drop-offs, though he will eventually go to preschool.

We do have one cat and it is crucial that he stay inside, which means all doors must always be closed!

If you were able to do some light cleaning and organizing (at a minimum cleaning up after yourself and the baby while you're here) that would be great. i.e. bottles washed, kitchen cleaned after use, toys put away, restocking diaper changing station, emptying out the Diaper Genie, etc.

If you love to cook, we would love you to! The baby won't be eating solids for a few months, but it would be great to know you can prepare simple, nutritious meals when he is ready for them.

Newborn care and safety experience is essential. You must know how to pick up, hold, set down, comfort, change, bottle feed and burp a baby. Choking and CPR awareness and skills are essential.

We know babies’ brains are like sponges at this age so we want someone who loves to talk to the baby, sing, read stories aloud, etc.

If you’re not comfortable and experienced with newborns, please do not apply.

Must understand and speak English, but would love if you spoke to him in another language as well!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Palm Springs, CA

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Palm Springs, CA

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Palm Springs, CA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
