A little bit about us

This would be a full-time three days a week 13-14 hr shifts. Including occasional weekends, depending on my schedule that week. It would be at my house watching the two younger ones and getting the toddler to preschool, and making sure the two older ones get on and off the school bus in the morning and afternoon (they are self-sufficient and can help with the littles). There may be occasional baby-sitting needs outside of the normal times, but that will be to follow as well. This would be a job starting in November.

A little bit about us

Looking for a nanny to start in November and maybe a few times between now and then. Hours would vary weekly due to our work schedule (military with nurse spouse). We have two older children that are mostly self-sufficient (ages 12 and 11) and two younger children (2 and 1). The toddler goes to preschool for 3 hours a day Monday through Thursday. We have no pets. Older two children attend school and bus stop location is right outside of house.

A little bit about us

My wife and I are currently looking for a caring and dependable part-time nanny to help with our 1-year-old son. We’re located in the Smithfield/Nike Park area, and my wife works from home, so we’re mainly looking for someone who can provide extra daytime support with some flexibility in scheduling.
We’re hoping to find someone who is reliable, patient, and great with young children. If interested, we’d love to connect and discuss further!

A little bit about us

I would need in home care for two baby girls. Mostly mornings but the latest until 2pm. They will need breakfast prepared, diaper changes and just playtime. Nap time is around noon so at that point it would mostly be just folding their clothes, putting away their toys, and staying available in case they wake up earlier than expected. I would be in the home working but available as well.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Smithfield, VA

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Smithfield, VA

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Smithfield, VA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
