A little bit about me
I have been in the Medical Field as a
Registered Medical Assistant for the first 15 years of my career , I took some off while my daughter went thru High School. I felt she really needed me more than . I had never had ability to stay at home with her, So, that was important to her as well to me.. Now in college, I went back to work for a GYN Infertility group. I work in back and did alot of invitro. Other gyn treatments. I left that job to go to work for all female staff family medical Group in Largo Drs. Bellingar and Dean . Worked there for 5 years. Then went to John Hopkins All Children Hospital in St. Petersburg, working with Brain Cancer Children as a Child Liaison .
I needed to make a change, I love kids and babysat the time I was 8yrs old . Until I was a junior in High School.. I had my family very early in life . So I had a home daycare at
my home.I had 3 children under the age of 2 and 1 over the age of 4.
I really enjoyed that experience, I had a single Mom expecting twin boys so I and my daughter moved in as a live-in Nanny. I stayed untill
they were 2 yrs old. Old enough to go to daycare than no children were allowed too be in Daycare until age 2. They since changed that law. Now I have been a Nanny
going on 10 yrs I am respectful of the homes I do childcare in. Things
are kept were things are found unless instructed other wise , If I a regular client I will leave a Blk Comp.book in your home. So when you the children eat I document that and what was prepared for that meal. Unlike Daycare's I care for your children., My time is spent solely on your children not a class of 10 or 15 to watch. I document what kind of play we did and include photo's. of the day. I change diapers more than 3 times a day. I change them as needed and if a child has a bowel movement, I document that as well. If accident happens and a child may need a bandage I document that ,Oh I carry around a 15 lb first aid kit to everyone sitting job fully-stock...

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Largo, FL
Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.
Largo Nanny Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a nanny?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
- What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
- Are you open to a live in arrangement in Largo? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
- Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Largo?
- Do you have a driver’s license in FL? Do you own a car?
- What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
- What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny
Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
