A little bit about me

I am a grandmother of a beautiful little two year old that is my life, unfortunately she lives in England so I do not get near enough time with her. But that doesnt stop us from being incredibly close, thank goodness for technology.. we facetime a few times a week. I am very responsible, and passionate about everything I get involved with.
Besides that, I was accepted to the Nanny Institute of Beverly Hills when I was younger, and that was after a very demanding and laborious application process.
Simply, I love kids and over the years I have had lots of experience caring for infants to 18 year olds. I was a licensed professional parent, bringing in kids with different behavioral issues from RAD to OCD, CD, BI-POLAR etc as well as gang members and teenage rape victims. I have never believed in what some call "Bad Kids", I feel it falls back on the parenting techniques that the parent is failing in. I personally have been blessed with one daughter and I would have loved to have 4 or 5, so I habe lots of love in my heart for other children, and they just seem to like me. I may be a grandma but I am young at heart and still very active.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Pensacola, FL

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Pensacola Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Pensacola? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Pensacola?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in FL? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny

Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
