A little bit about me

Hi! I'm a Grand Valley nursing student on summer break now looking for work! I'm looking for a summer time job and potentially longer depending on the hours once school starts again late August. I have experience engaging with children of all ages, ensuring their safety and well-being! I am excited to bring my skills and enthusiasm to babysitting. I'm extremely comfortable with animals and have a love for dogs! I worked as an arcade attendant/ party host for about 3 years and have 2 little siblings so I'm confident in my ability to meet your needs! I have a car that I'm comfortable driving around for errands/ activities if planned!

A little bit about me

Hello!
I work for Zeeland Public Schools as an ASD paraprofessional, and I’m off during the summers. I won’t be able to get a “normal” summer job like I normally would because I’m due with my third baby in July.

In the meantime, starting June 10 until I give birth, I am looking to watch some kiddos! We cannot afford for me to be down my income all summer. I’m taking 2 weeks off after giving birth, and then I’ll be up and at’em again.

I won’t have my own childcare, so it would need to be a position where I could bring my 2yo and 4yo with me. I have transportation, and I’m available Monday-Friday 8:30am-8pm. Can offer light cleaning/cooking as well!

I am not childcare certified, but I’ve worked at the elementary school since Jan 2021, and worked in a daycare for 2 year prior to that. I am first-aid/CPR certified, and well-equipped for special ed. children.

A little bit about me

Hello my name is Jasmine I'm a single mom of a 2yr old. It's currently hard to find a job on 1st shift as it shard to find a babysitter for 2nd shift. So I thought might as well see if any other parents need the same help in a sense and I can just babysit with my little one. I used to watch kids all the time for friend sand family. I watch my nieces and nephew allot or should I say used to. I have a high patience level with kids. I like to stay busy so cleaning isn't an issue if need be. I'm flexible as well so wether it be at ur house or mine either is fine by me. I have lots of toys here for littles. I have reliable transportation and like to go to parks or on walks as well when the weather is nice.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Holland, MI

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Holland Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Holland? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Holland?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in MI? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny

Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
