A little bit about me

My name is Mariana. I am currently 25, going on 26 years old (this July). I live in Norwalk. I have been a babysitter/nanny for about I believe 91/2 years now. (Many different families). I worked at a brand new play gym for kids in Norwalk called Tumble Jungle. While at work, myself and co-workers provided fun/age appropriate games and we would care for up to 35 children (ages 1+ and up) at a time. I've also cared for families (as a nanny) with up to three children, two children and also another family with 1 and those relationships lasted for years.(Each different years). As a babysitter I have watched plenty of kids and would watch multiple children at a time. I love doing any arts and crafts and games with the children. Music, singing, swimming, movies, baking and playing outdoors. In the past, I have also taken care of family animals. During all the running around for the kids many activities, I also had many household jobs as in laundry for the family, dishes, taking out garbage/recycling, getting the mail, animal care as already stated, grocery shopping, and of course helping the children with schoolwork/homework. I am comfortable bringing/picking up children from play dates, bringing children to any lessons they may have. Taking care of children is not an easy job, but I find happiness in it. I love all children and absolutely love all my jobs!

• Waiting on financial aid to begin phlebotomy classes. I'm not sure when I would begin those classes and I can always take them online. And as as I am flexible as of now, I am without my own transportation seeing as my car was stolen and totaled. Trying so hard to figure that out it's just a bit difficult for me right now.

• Thank you again for taking time out of your day to read my profile. Ask me anything I haven't covered.

A little bit about me

I am seeking a nanny position because I have a passion for working with children!
I have an extensive history working with children to discover their learning styles, engineer imaginative play and projects, and assist in reaching milestones.

I was a babysitter throughout high-school & college, then worked as a preschool teacher for 1.5 yrs before nannying.

I am a photographer who loves to share my passion for the arts! I spend my time reading & painting, and I teach by exploring children’s interests through play & creative activities. I am passionate about engaging in conversation with children about their interests to develop their communication skills, even if it is only about our surroundings and actions in play! It makes us fast friends!

Let me know if we would be a fit :)

A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Madeline Lucero. As someone with years of experience working in daycares with children of multiple ages (ranging from infants to Pre-K), I believe I’d be a perfect fit as a nanny. I’ve worked at Tutor Time in Norwalk and most recently, at Building Blocks in Wilton. At Building Blocks, I was the head teacher for infants, toddlers, and Pre-K, creating and implementing different educational curriculums, as well as maintaining a caring and compassionate environment for children and their families. Although I don’t have CPR certification at the moment, I have received it multiple times and am willing to do so again if needed. I’m also a mother of two kids so I can also cook, clean, and have my own transportation with a clean driving record. I’m eager to bring my wealth of experience and dedication into this new chapter as a nanny in hopes of positively contributing to the lives of more children and their families.

How to Find a Babysitter in Norwalk, CT

Nanny Lane is a child care website meant to help you find a babysitter in your area. Our child care services include background checks, PLUS, and payroll.

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Norwalk, CT

Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.

From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Norwalk can impact how much you pay your babysitter.

Norwalk Babysitter Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a babysitter?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Connecticut?
  • Do you have a Connecticut driver’s license? Do you own a car?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!

And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
