A little bit about me
I retired 9 5 years ago and decided to go back to doing what I truly love... being a nanny. Over the past 9.5 yrs I've had the pleasure of helping a number of families. I have a lot of love, patience, and knowledge still left to give, so I would like to find another family to be a nanny and/or house manager for. I have experience with newborns through junior high, twins, multiples, special needs, love pets, am a non-smoker, very active, and love the outdoors. I will also bring along my exceptional organizational skills, prepare meals, help with laundry, run errands, tutor, accommodate activities/schedules, vacation travels, overnights, pet sit, and whatever else I can do to help.
I am CPR/First Aid Certified w/ a clean driving record, Covid vaccinated & Tdap current.

A little bit about me
My mom, an elementary teacher, has taught me the ropes and ins and outs of child behavior and learning. I’ve worked with autistic children and children with psychiatric disorders. I am also teaching myself Spanish and Japanese! You can say I’m quite eager! Not only that but I have pet experience too! I currently have a five month old puppy who I train myself to be my personal service dog!
Alright, I’m rumbling on and on…I’m just so happy to share my experience hoping I get the opportunity to do great with your family! I hope to hear back from you soon! If not I wish you well on your journey to finding the right fit!

A little bit about me
A little about me:
I am a 20 year old nanny who has been working with kids since I was 15! I started off with taking care of newborn babies-toddler ages within my family, and eventually when I turned 17, I landed a job as a tutor at the Catholic Charities Youth Center, tutoring and looking after children from ages 5-18. I’m able to help with basic needs such as math & reading, and am excited about any other subjects.
Last summer, I had the opportunity to work with rising high-school seniors to help them navigate through their senior year & freshman year of college. While doing so, I was still be a live in caregiver for a family member for a 3 & 5 year old where I potty trained, tutored, assigned daily activities for us to do, prepared meals, did the household chores, and bathed the children. This was my schedule from 5am-6pm!
I am not a nanny that is certified, or can drive, but I hope that

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Merrillville, IN
Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.
From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Merrillville can impact how much you pay your babysitter.
Merrillville Babysitter Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a babysitter?
- What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Indiana?
- Do you have a Indiana driver’s license? Do you own a car?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!
And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
