My mother is a home daycare provider and has been doing it for the last 17 years. When I turned 18, one of the parents came up to me and asked me to watch her two sons, aged 3 years and 1 year old. I had an amazing time with the two boys. I was told what to do with the boys and how to reach the parents if there were any problems. I watched the boys 4 or 5 other times after that then the family moved away. When I was about 16, another daycare parent asked me to watch their son, aged 2 year old. This child was a lot different from the other two boys I watched. This boy cried often when he didnt get his way and always had a temper. I put him in a time-out a couple times. After a time out he would say he was sorry, and go play with his toys, want me to read a book to him, or watch some televison. Recently, while my mother was away on vacatio last month, I was one of my mother's substitutes and I was asked to watch an 8 year old girl for 3 weeks. During that time, I was paid $100 a week, I had to provide food for her everyday, and I had to come up with activities to do. During those 3 weeks, I took her to different parks, and libraries. We would play "school". where I would act like the teacher and she she would be my student. She really enjoyed pretending to be someone else. I used to always watch after my little sisters whenever my mom was out and my dad was out at work during night shifts. Now, they are old enough to look after themseleves. In High School, I did take an Early Childhood Development Class, which I learned a lot about a child's development through the years. I had a great opportunity to be a nanny for 2 monthes from August 2010 to October 2010. This was an amazing experience for me I got to see what it was actually like to be a nanny for the first time. There was always something to do! Teaching ABCs, 123s, taking the child to different places, reading to her, etc. That experiences makes me want to work with childeren all the time.

Nicole’s Bio I have worked at the same place as a nanny for the past three years and to date have 4 years of nanny experience. I have extensive experience caring at all stages of development from newborns and infants, toddlers, to elementary school age children. I have extensive experience scheduling and organizing daily activities and outings, creating arts and crafts projects, meal preparation, homework assistance, bathing, housecleaning, grocery shopping, transporting, and overall maintaining and managing childcare and all aspects inclusive of childcare. I have experience in caring for multiples (twins/triplets). I have taken care of children with special needs and with allergies. I have CPR and first aid training experience. I started babysitting at the age of 12 and have always loved children. I knew as a kid myself that I wanted to be connected with children; to enjoy their presence, and incorporate my love for kids in a professional environment. I believe it's imperative that children have stability and nurturing in their lives. I believe in positive reinforcement, using a calm voice while being firm simultaneously. At 16, I became a counselor in training at community summer camps. I was responsible for the care of up to as many as 15 children at one time, ranging from 2 to 12 years old. I was eventually promoted to counselor and continued this position for a few years. Since 2005, I have been a Sunday School preschool teacher at my local synagogue. As a teacher, I'm responsible for teaching and the safekeeping of my children, ages 3 to 5. I create lesson plans for arts and crafts, games, learning and play time that are suitable for the children. I take pride and remain conscientious in my work. I have CPR and first aid experience offered by my synagogue, where I am a Sunday school preschool teacher. I regularly attend educational workshops that are offered by my synagogue as well. I havemy Associate’s Degree of Applied Science in General Studies. I have taken several educational and early childhood education related courses in the past.

I have been a babysitter since I was 15 years old, and when I was out of college for the summer, I was a full-time Nanny for 4+ years. I have experience with infants (14 wks) all the way through the preteen years. I really love working with babies and toddlers, but I adore all ages! I am very versatile, nurturing, and active when it comes to childcare. I highly value the chance to educate while I am on the job as well. Please reference my response below to the question, "Why do you want to become a Nanny."

I am from a large family and have been changing diapers and feeding newborns and infants since I was 6 years old. I also started babysitting family members and non-family members at a young age. I have a tremendous amount of experience with babysitting both only children and multiple sibling families. This past school year, I was the nanny for a 2 year old boy while his mother taught in the public schools. I also hold a teaching license in Early Childhood Education and have taught children ranging from age 4 through 5th grade. I have a real passion for children and have always felt very comfortable caring for them. It was my many years of babysitting that led me to study Early Childhood Education in both my undergraduate and graduate schooling. I am a very dependable and trustworthy person and I promise to be an excellent caregiver for your child.
