A little bit about us

Hi! I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I will be working from home and am looking for someone to watch my infant. My baby will be born in October and we are looking for someone to start in September. I am going to schedule my patients so I can have breaks to breastfeed but I will need someone to watch the baby while I am with my patients. I have 3 dogs as well (2 small and 1 big) so must love dogs! I don’t have my schedule yet so I can be flexible with hours but I am thinking 4 days a week for 6 hours maybe 9-3 but like I said it is flexible.

A little bit about us

FTM to a lovely, bright 6 month old, currently SAH but am planning to work from home full-time soonish (in about a month or two). My husband WFH every Mon & Fri. I'm hoping to bond with a caretaker before I restart my job, so ideally I'm looking for a nanny to start right away with maybe 1-2 times per week (initially at home/ co-caretaking together with me, then I can have some independence to run errands), and then full-time caretaking at our home when I restart work. I plan to continue breastfeeding (so I'll be available for "breastfeed breaks") and will have some snacks/purees made as baby starts solids. Little to no need for light housework or meal prep. The ideal caretaker will be experienced with infants/toddlers, reliable, preferably vaccinated, *hopefully* local to us, and preferably at least somewhat familiar with Montessori methods. We don't do ipads/phones/tablets/screens with baby but are ok with Ms. Rachel on TV for rare occasions when she's in too much teething pain. So I'm looking for 1-2x recurring per week to start and then move up to M-Th or M-F. Thank You!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Riverside, CA

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Riverside, CA

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Riverside, CA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
