A little bit about me
I have been around childcare my entire life with my mother running her own daycare business for over twenty years. While I used to think she was bringing more friends for me to hang out with as a child, I quickly realized that my mom was (and still is) an entrepreneur and business owner. When I was twelve, I started babysitting for my mom's daycare kids after hours whenever I was needed. Whether it was at the parents' house or at my own, there were always kids around and I loved the environment. Babysitting became my summer, evenings, and weekend gigs. That was all in Topeka, Kansas. I moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to pursue college, and nannied there as well. I went through a company called Nanny Connection, and found families I loved. Nannying and childcare has always been a part of my life. I just moved my to California with my husband!

A little bit about me
I'm caring, patient, and love engaging with kids through play, outings, and age appropriate activities - big thanks to my sweet 5-year-old niece who taught me that a lot! I'm confident with everything from bottle feeding and diapers to guiding toddlers through challenges. Organized and proactive, I try to anticipate kids (and parents) needs and am comfortable with light housekeeping and household management.
I'd love the opportunity to support your family and become a team - please feel free to reach out!

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Vista, CA
Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.
Vista Nanny Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a nanny?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
- What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
- Are you open to a live in arrangement in Vista? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
- Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Vista?
- Do you have a driver’s license in CA? Do you own a car?
- What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
- What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny
Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
