Part-Time Nanny Job: The Melchione Family with 1 Child
We are a 30-something couple, first time parents. Baby due 12/21 and two full time working parents. Dad works from home in IT and mom works from home 2/5 days/week and the other 3/5 days is in Bethesda. Mom works in psychology and when working from home, has to be fully engaged in work. Dad is a bit easier with his schedule and can be more present. We don’t have family nearby and we’re looking for a lovely, trustworthy person to come in and help us during certain days/schedules with baby care and light housework.
Dad is bilingual English/Spanish and mom only English and we do want to teach our daughter how to speak both languages so it’s ideal for someone to be bilingual but not necessary.
We’d also like someone to be able to drive to our home and provide care in our space - drivers license is necessary. We have two dogs - a lab mix about 3yrs old and a cocker spaniel who’s almost 12. They are very easy going once they get to know someone but as long as you’re okay with dogs sniffing you and wanting to love on you, you’ll be just fine.
We’re looking for someone more mature with childcare experience who will also be patient with us as we’ll probably be a bit anxious (could you tell? Baby isn’t here yet and we’re looking for our peoples). Ideally we want to be able to breastfeed and nurse but are ready to switch gears if needed.
Ultimately we’re a high work performing couple trying to learn how to adjust and make space for a new family member and we’d like to not use daycare if we can avoid it. The “right” person isn’t easy to find! We don’t think we’ll need full time care since dads schedule is more flexible but as she gets older and mobile that will probably change. Relationships are very important to us! So someone feeling comfortable with us and vice versa will really make the difference. We want someone who will love being at our home with our baby and we do believe that makes all the difference.
