Hi! I'm a single mom needing a little extra help this summer, and hoping to find someone who is playful, patient, and kind, and willing to give me a helping hand. The hours would be 9:30am-2:30pm a few times a week. My schedule moves around a bit but I'm able to lock it in with both jobs to make things easier if needed.
Both of my kids are autistic so experience and comfortability with autism, especially high needs autism, is a must.
My oldest is high needs nonspeaking autistic - but don't let that fool you. He's very clever, incredibly quick, and loves pulling off a good prank! If you love trampolines, things that light up, and spinning you'll get along greatly. He's a joyful child whose been described as having infectious laughter - and he does! He won't require much help while I'm gone other than reminders to change/put on a pullup, and having help getting milk. My youngest is low needs autistic. He's imaginative, helpful, and a big chatterbox. He loves Sonic, Zelda, and Mario Kart, and will be sure to show off his growing Pokémon card collection. He has a budding interest in skateboarding and soccer, and loves running around outside with the other kids in the cul-de-sac.
Overall the responsibilities are light. Just making sure the kids eat, reminders to use the bathroom, and sometimes help with picking up any toy mess that's made. There are 5 cats in the house, only 1 that doesn't enjoy human interaction so you won't see her much, and none of them require any care beyond pets if you feel inclined.
At the time of writing this I can pay $15 an hour, but am getting together with my kids dad to see if there's any wiggle room in our budgets for an increase.
