More Nanny Jobs Near New Britain
Babysitter Job: The Anjous Family with 1 Child
My wife and I are first-time parents looking for a nanny to help care for our son on a part-time basis.
I work as an Electronics Engineering Lead, and my wife is a phlebotomist. She works independently from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM, and I currently work in the office from approximately 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. While my schedule is normally a full 8-hour workday, I have some flexibility at the moment.
We’ve been relying on grandparents for childcare when our schedules overlap, but we’ve found that our son has difficulty transitioning back home afterward. We are intentionally working on helping him build independence and learn to self-soothe, so we’re looking for more consistent care that aligns with that approach.
At this time, we’re interested in trying a part-time schedule on Tuesdays and Thursdays from approximately 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Since we’re new to hiring childcare, we’d like to start with these days and hours and see how things go before making any long-term decisions.
Initially, one of us will likely be home or nearby for most, if not all, of the nanny’s time with our son as everyone gets comfortable with the new routine.
We’re looking for someone who is patient, dependable, and supportive of our parenting approach, and we’d love to find someone who can grow with our family if it’s a good fit.
