Nanny needed for 2 kids
This ad is for a full time childcare position starting in September, with somewhat unusual hours. We will pay for 40 hours a week even though we expect that on most weeks the actual hours worked will be significantly less than that.
We have two kids, age 4 and 1, who go to daycare.
Our needs are:
Some weekends and evenings (about 20 hours per week in total). This includes childcare and light housekeeping and/or meal prep.
Backup care some days of the week (we expect roughly 3 days per week).
Backup care means that in case one or both kids can’t go to daycare because of illness, or get sent home in the middle of the day, you need to pick them up for the day, since neither parent can easily take off work. Like most toddlers, on average they get one illness per month.
This means that on the vast majority of backup days, we won’t actually need you, but it also means you can’t commit to another job during those days (unless it is something like Uber driving where you can pick up the kid within an hour if needed).
We will make sure that the hours don’t exceed 40 hours on any given week. The weekend/evening hours are flexible. If you want some weekends off once in a while we can accommodate that. All other details including hourly rate and vacations are negotiable.
