I am in search of a caretaker to come in for an hour and a half every weekday to be with my son before I get home from work. He is 13 and responsible, but would be unhappy being left on his own for long periods, so I would rather avoid this. My son is on the autism spectrum and has noticeable social awkwardness, but he is high functioning and intelligent, and you will not deal with meltdowns, disobedience or any sort of difficulty. He's no trouble at all. Basically, I would just like you to come in and supervise him while he makes himself lunch and eats, and just keep him company for a while. Ideally, you would arrive around 2:30 and leave at 4:00. Pay would be by a weekly rate. You don't have to cook or clean up; he is perfectly able to do this himself. I just wouldn't want him cooking in the home alone.
I will only consider a sitter with considerable experience and a full background check (not just seven years). CPR training is a big plus, as is having raised children of your own. References are necessary. My son is no trouble, but I need someone extremely trustworthy who will be concerned for his welfare above all else while they are watching him. I won't rush or compromise trying to find the right person, but if you are caring, qualified, and just looking for a bit of light afternoon work, please do contact me.
This will happen in my home, and I feel I need to stipulate up front that there must be no visitors. No one is allowed in the home other than yourself and my son. You must remain with him in the home the entire time, and not take him anywhere else unless there is an urgent need and safety requires it. There will be nanny cams.
