A little bit about us

Our son Austin contracted meningitis when he was 11 months leaving him deaf, with right side weakness and a mental age of 2-4 years of age. He is sweet, gentle, very loving, happy go lucky and easy to care for. His needs are simple: just watch him around the house, make sure he is safe, prepare him food when he is hungry and give him a bath. He is toilet trained but needs help with bowel movements. You don’t need to entertain him. He signs a little and says a few words but does neither well.‘I need someone Tues mornings, Wednesday evenings, some Saturdays for the Michigan games and some Sunday mornings and evenings for church. Doing small household tasks such as putting your dirty dishes into the dishwasher, emptying the dishwasher when the dishes are clean, and folding laundry would be a blessing. Some short notice availability is always an asset. Very interested in someone who would like to qualify for getting paid thru the ARC/Easter Seals. We are plugged into them and they provide respite hours for Austin. To work under them you would need to take first aide and CPR classes which they would pay for. We could do the classes online with you to help you out!
