A little bit about us

I am looking for a one-on-one aide for my son on the autism spectrum, with speech delay. He is a happy kid and loves school and recreational activities, but also needs help throughout the day to make sure he understands expectations of what's going on and to help him maximize his potential and ability in all aspects - at school, home, and in the community. We need someone to attend school with him Monday through Friday and camps during the summer, also Monday through Friday, and two Saturdays per month. For the two working Saturdays, we can reduce hours during the week. Responsibilities include homework help, helping at home and at school with tasks like chores to help him gain independence, helping him interact with peers to build social skills, and engaging him in activities to keep him productive. We do not have a pet but are planning on getting a dog in the next several months, so would want to make sure you are comfortable with pets. We are looking for someone who is dependable, hard working, loves kids, and will be proactive in identifying activities for our son and keeping him engaged. He has transportation to and from school but you will need to have transportation and a safe driving record to transport him to / from camp and between activities when necessary.
