Long-Term Family Assistant/Travel Nanny — Rancho Santa Fe

Lovely Rancho Santa Fe family looking for a grounded, joyful, and mature candidate to build a unique, long-term position around.

Family has one child, is planning for another, and envisions a Family Assistant/Travel Nanny scenario to start, evolving over the next year or two into increased responsibilities. Previous teaching experience is a plus.

Family values reading, nutrition, health, and being present while encouraging independence by, for example, reading nearby while the child(ren) play independently, and jumping in when needed.

Looking for someone reliable, fun, disciplined, and knowledgeable about child development. Family enjoys beach trips, golf, tennis, and swimming, and takes regular trips to visit family in Wyoming.

Family requests someone active, authentic, honest, intelligent, discreet, well-spoken, and educated, who can be comfortable in the great outdoors or highly formal settings. A genuine love of books matters more than credentials.

Requirements: Non-smoker, valid driver's license, clean driving record, strong swimming ability, passport ready, CA TrustLine certification, and 3 relevant references. No phones on duty, no screens for the child(ren), and please be comfortable maintaining a polished, professional appearance.

Compensation: Competitive and structured to reflect the flexibility and reliability required. The role includes a handful of trips per year, with an inaugural trip to Pebble Beach this October. Beyond travel, the family anticipates roughly 2 afternoons per week to start, with the possibility of a retainer-style structure for guaranteed travel availability. The most important piece is finding the right person to come alongside the family as a trusted partner in nurturing the physical, emotional, and educational development of their little one(s).
