I am a single-dad/airline pilot household with 2 kids: Mother not involved in any way.

💰 Pay: $1,200 every 2 weeks

⛽ Gas is paid by the family, as long as you’re reasonable with it
🎬 Movie theater membership that you can use both with the kids and by yourself during your free time

🗣️ Good communication skills are very important since you gonna be the only adult at the house when you’re on duty. Make sure to always have your phone around in case you receive a text from the dad.

A valid driver’s license is required. If you’re moving from another state, I highly recommend transferring your license to Nevada once you get here, so you don’t have to pay for parking everywhere :)

The schedule is very flexible and can vary from month to month, but it rarely changes once the month has started. You normally receive the schedule for the following month by the 23rd, which makes it easier to plan ahead.

You can ask days off until the 10th of every month (it’s not a sure thing, but usually your days will not denied. It all depends on my company to give me the days off).

The work schedule usually comes in stretches of around 2-4 days at a time without a full day off in between . During those days, you sleep normally and you’re free to do your own thing while the kids are at school, but you are still considered working/on duty for that stretch and you won’t be completely free in the evenings until the dad gets home.

You’d have at least 12 days off per month! Sometimes up to 18 days!

On your work days, when they are in school, your day starts at 6am. And they are in bed by 8:30pm.

Cooking is VERY simple. The kids eat basic food and almost everything they eat goes straight into the air fryer or microwave 😂 Occasionally they’ll ask for scrambled eggs, but there’s no complicated cooking involved.
