A little bit about us

I'm looking for a part-time nanny for our 7-month-old son. This person would be responsible for actively engaging with our son while he's awake, feeding him, changing him and putting him to sleep. Also picking up after him and cleaning bottles+feeding utensils. My husband and I work from home so we would be around. We have 4 friendly cats. We would like someone for Wed, Thu and Fri for about 5-6 hours a day. The starting/ending time daily is flexible, but ideally in the 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. range. We want someone for at least 3 months, maybe longer. Please have your TDaP vaccination, Covid+Flu are optional but preferred. We would really love someone who is proficient in the Korean language to help our son be bi-lingual.

A little bit about us

I am looking for a nanny for my 10 month old daughter. She is curious and loves to explore. She is beginning to say words and attempt to walk on her own. She’s a sponge and loves new things. We are looking for someone three days a week with potential for additional days/hours. Responsibility would be taking care of our daughter keeping her engaged with activities, reading, flash cards, feeding and picking up after her. She has a steady schedule and naps for 2-3 hours a day. We would love for her to also learn Spanish. We are new to this journey and encourage ideas and input.

What Are Bilingual Nanny Jobs?

Bilingual nanny jobs are positions where speaking a second language is a valued part of the role. Families may want their children to learn a language, keep up a language spoken at home, or communicate with a grandparent or relative. Your language skills can set you apart from other candidates and may support a higher rate.

Types of Bilingual Nanny Jobs and Responsibilities

Some families want you to speak only the second language with the children, and others want a mix throughout the day. Responsibilities can include childcare, meals, activities, and reading and playing in the second language. Jobs can be full-time, part-time, or live-in, so check the schedule and expectations in each posting.

How to Interview for Bilingual Nanny Jobs

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here are some questions you should ask:

  • Which language do you want me to use, and how often?
  • How fluent do you expect me to be?
  • Do the children already speak the language?
  • Are there other adults in the home who speak it?
  • Is language teaching part of the role, or just everyday conversation?

Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
