A little bit about us
We are a family of five (Mom, Dad, Daughter, Son, and Dog). Daughter is 2 years old. Son is 1 month old. Dog is a Jack Russell Terrier and 13 years old.
Mom is a stay-at-home mom with potential to work in the near future. Dad is a freelancer that works on weekends (Fri, Sat, & Sun) and some weekdays.
We can provide confirmed dates that we need a nanny for in 2025 but additional dates for the nanny will also occur as the year goes on due to the nature of Dad’s freelance work. Hence, we need a nanny that can also be on-call.
On weekends, work hours would be around 8-10 hours. On weekdays, it could be anywhere from 3-6 hours. There is no set time so each start and end time will vary per day.
We’re looking for someone ASAP and would like to do a trial-run before moving forward with booking more dates.
Responsibilities
- Assistance with child care for both kids. Possibly for occasional date nights and/or work days.
- Newborn care and activity needed as well (tummy time, diaper change, burping, soothing, etc.)
- Possibly some infrequent errands (dry cleaning, returns, grocery shopping, opening packages, etc).
- Assistance with tidying, cleaning, and organizing the house.
- Feeding/walking the dog.
- Occasional meal prepping & feeding toddler.
- Occasional meal prep for Mom.
- Assisting Mom with bathing toddler and newborn.
Requirements
- Reliable transportation.
- Clean criminal and driving record.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience with newborns and toddlers.
- Up to date on vaccines (Covid, TDAP, Flu, etc).
- Dog friendly.
- CPR/First Aid Certified.
- Non-smoker
Ideally, we’re looking for a kind-hearted, honest, reliable, trustworthy, positive, empathetic, team player, and caring person.
Overall, we just want a kind person that is helpful and gets along with everyone.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Ridgefield Park, NJ
If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.
What is an Infant Nanny in Ridgefield Park, NJ
An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.
Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position
Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:
- What is your specific experience with this age group?
- Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Ridgefield Park, NJ? Are you willing to be trained?
- How do you handle a crying baby?
- How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
- What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
- How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
- What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?
You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
