A little bit about us

My daughter was born early November 2019, we are looking for a nanny to watch her when we both return to work full time in mid March. Looking at both full and part time options.

My husband and I are both graphic designers that work in book publishing in Manhattan. We have two adorable whippets as well. We enjoy the Montessori teaching, and are looking for someone who is safe, patient, smart and informative, engaging, and loving. It is also a plus if you have a car and also have been CPR and infant certified.

We are open to both a nanny or a nanny share if they are very close to us. Our hours and days are currently negotiable.

A little bit about us

We would prefer you be able to get to us yourself and take care of our 3-year old girl during the work day for most weekdays. She will attend a handful of preschool morning sessions (so we need you half-day M, W, Th) as they reopen slowly, and will be home remainder of the day and all day Tue, Fri
We are looking for someone energetic, educated and capable of engaging and helping teach her, not just take care of her. Ideally, you have a safe car, and can also take her places (playground, zoo, library - as things start to reopen
We expect help with her meal prep, cleanup, laundry etc.

A little bit about us

Both my husband and I work at advertising agencies in NYC. We both work hybrid schedules so most days one of us will WFH with both of us in the city 1 day.

We are expecting our first child (a boy) in May. We also have two dogs (both extremely friendly) so someone who is comfortable with dogs will also be important.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Montclair, NJ

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Montclair, NJ

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Montclair, NJ? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
