A little bit about us

I have an emergency! I need to attend my son’s graduation out of town have NO FAMILY near me. My niece cancelled on me so I’m in a bind. I need someone to care for my children from [phone number hidden]. I can probably modify the dates to return sooner. My kids are VERY sweet and loving! My entire family is just deceased so it’s hard to make things happen and this is my oldest sons one and ONLY graduation from high school! If someone can help me out in watching them, I would greatly appreciate it! I’m really just trying to be a good mom! Let me know your availability for these days and times!

The responsibility would be feeding and caring for the children. Basic household duties you would have to stay here for the time I’m gone so just running the house overall!

What Are Short-Term Nanny Jobs?

Short-term nanny jobs are temporary positions with a set end date, such as covering a parental leave, a family move, a summer, or a gap between nannies. They suit nannies who like variety, are between jobs, or want to try a family before committing.

Types of Short-Term Nanny Jobs and Responsibilities

Short-term jobs can be full-time or part-time and last from a few weeks to several months. Responsibilities are the same as in an ongoing job, with an emphasis on getting up to speed quickly. Check the dates, the hours, and whether there is a chance of the role being extended.

How to Interview for Short-Term Nanny Jobs

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here are some questions you should ask:

  • What are the start and end dates, and could the job be extended?
  • Is the schedule full-time or part-time?
  • What is the reason for the temporary role?
  • How will I be paid, and is there a written agreement?
  • What routines and house rules should I know on day one?

Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
