A little bit about us

We are looking for a loving, energetic, and patient nanny to make our lives easier. We are entering a challenging season of grief anniversaries following the death of our middle child. High executive functioning skills and emotional intelligence are a must.

Our 8 year old is just coming out of autistic burnout and is ready to be in the world. Our 2 year old is gregarious and loves being outside and dancing to the music in her heart. They both love to cuddle.

Ideally you are interested in helping us raise kind humans and helping maintain the order of the home.

Up to 20 hours/week needed.

We like our kids to get outside everyday rain or shine, will occasionally need to be picked up from appointments. We expect you would clean up after children's meals and play areas. Fold and put away kid clothing, tidy kids' rooms. We have a puppy we are training to be a service animal so occasionally you would help with puppy potty breaks and play.

Husband words from home in a detached office.

What is a Special Needs Nanny Job in Washington

A special needs nanny focuses on caring for children with special needs. You’ll be responsible for creating individualized care and activities that combine both consistency and stimulation. The family you’re caring for will have schedules and preferences to share with you to ensure that their child receives the best care possible.

Preparing for a Special Needs Nanny Job Interview in Washington

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a special needs nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this diagnosis?
  • Can you tell us about your experiences with children with special needs?
  • Do you have any Washington special training?
  • What would you do if an emergency arises?
  • How strictly do you usually follow a schedule with children with special needs?

At this stage, you should come prepared with references from past special needs nanny jobs. It is a great opportunity to see how you fit in with the family and ask any questions about the responsibilities or compensation. To ensure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities; we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract.
