A little bit about us…

Hello!

We have a 4 year old daughter, a 2.5 year old son, and a 10 month old daughter. Our oldest daughter has special needs. I just need a side kick to help me out with various chores/housework/watching the kids/travel/laundry/dishes/playtime/therapies throughout the day!

(Maybe a random weekend night for a couple hours so I can have a date night with my husband!)

We have had a helper for over 1.5 years but her college courses turn full time in August. I’m making this post now in hopes that we can find the right fit for our family by then.

My goal is to make sure everyone has what they need when they need it, therefore, we need help making sure all of the ‘extra stuff’ also gets done in the process. Being home with my kids is what I love to do but I want to make sure I'm still getting the quality time with them that we all need. My goal is to try and have more one on one time with each of them.

My husband works full time as a farmer - his schedule is wild so we are looking for someone to be long term help for our family. We would need 20-30 hours a week starting mid August, however, the training process can start in the beginning of August so our current nanny can help train. We are willing to work with you as long as it works out with the needs of our family.
Thank you!

How to Find a Special Needs Nanny Job in the United States

Start by creating your profile so that families can quickly learn about you. Once your profile highlights your skills and personality, you can message families to find the right nanny job for you.

What is a Special Needs Nanny Job

A special needs nanny focuses on caring for children with special needs. You’ll be responsible for creating individualized care and activities that combine both consistency and stimulation. The family you’re caring for will have schedules and preferences to share with you to ensure that their child receives the best care possible.

Preparing for a Special Needs Nanny Job Interview

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a special needs nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this diagnosis?
  • Can you tell us about your experiences with children with special needs?
  • Do you have any special training?
  • What would you do if an emergency arises?
  • How strictly do you usually follow a schedule with children with special needs?

At this stage, you should come prepared with references from past special needs nanny jobs. It is a great opportunity to see how you fit in with the family and ask any questions about the responsibilities or compensation. To ensure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities; we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract.
