A little bit about us
We have 2 wonderful kids, a 3-year-old boy and 5-month-old girl who go to school/daycare everyday. Their mother had a stroke on the night our daughter was born and is slowly recovering from paralysis on her left side.
We would need help picking up and dropping the kids off at school/daycare and then supporting our family into the evening with dinner and bedtime.
When the children are at school/daycare, we would need help caring for her: making her meals, accompanying her, helping here to walk to/from the bathroom or bedroom. We'd need some help around the house as well with light housekeeping for the family.
We are flexible on support schedule as we find the right candidate, and would likely offer 40+ hours per week at $25-35/hour. We can also offer room and board as part of the compensation.

Preparing for a Special Needs Nanny Job Interview in Washington
Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a special needs nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:
- What is your specific experience with this diagnosis?
- Can you tell us about your experiences with children with special needs?
- Do you have any Washington special training?
- What would you do if an emergency arises?
- How strictly do you usually follow a schedule with children with special needs?
At this stage, you should come prepared with references from past special needs nanny jobs. It is a great opportunity to see how you fit in with the family and ask any questions about the responsibilities or compensation. To ensure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities; we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract.
