A little bit about me

Hi there! Thank you for viewing my profile. My name is Aaliyah, and I’m a 25-year-old student at Hunter College, majoring in Developmental Psychology. I currently work as a nanny for a 2-year-old on the UES. I have previously worked as an Assistant Teacher in a toddler classroom (12–24 months) and in an infant classroom (6 weeks–12 months), gaining over 4 years of professional experience.

I’ve nannied for three families through Sittercity (including my current family!) and have cared for children for many years, both professionally and for family and friends. As the oldest of six siblings (ages 9 to 23. Yes, it’s as fun and chaotic as it sounds!), I’ve had experience caring for kids of all ages.

Childcare is truly my passion, and I’m working toward becoming a Speech & Language Pathologist. Nannying is a wonderful way for me to gain more professional experience while doing something I love. I’m fully vaccinated for COVID-19, fine with pets, and LGBTQ+ friendly.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have nannied for three families with children ranging from 1 to 5 years old. I also worked as an infant and toddler teacher in multiple daycares, caring for children ages 6 weeks to 2 years. Through both roles, I’ve gained experience providing safe, nurturing, and engaging care for young children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love exploring parks, visiting libraries, museums, and music/art classes. Anything that involves getting out into the community for fun, enriching experiences! At home, I love planning age-appropriate arts and crafts, sensory play, reading together, imaginative play, and other activities that encourage creativity, learning, and development.

The most important part about being a nanny...

is providing a safe, nurturing environment where children feel supported and free to grow into their authentic selves!

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nannying moments was taking a child I care for on the Roosevelt Island Tram, which he had been obsessed by for months! The tram passes over a playground we visited often, and he would excitedly watch it every time. With his parents’ permission, we surprised him with a tram ride and day trip to Roosevelt Island! He and I spent the day exploring the library and playground, and he couldn’t stop talking about the adventure for weeks afterward. Seeing how much joy the trip brought him made it a truly special memory, and I was grateful to be part of it.

Kimani E. - Seeking Work in Queens Village

Babysitter Available in Queens Village, NY: Kimani E.

I am a 20-year-old college senior at CUNY York College. I have babysat both of my baby cousins from July 2018 to the present. While I babysat them, I fed them, changed them, and played with them; when they were tired, I would put them to sleep by singing or rocking them. I have worked at 2 daycares over 2 summers, including 3 years at one of them. While I don't have a professional degree, I am ready to offer my services wherever they are needed.
