The most important thing about being a nanny is that the children have fun, even if they're doing school work, chores, etc. You have to bring out the best in them.

My mother is a special needs teacher, so I get to see it up front. I've seen meltdowns, panic attacks, misunderstandings, and just depressed special needs kids that feel worthless. I try to be positive and show them that they are worth living; that they have so much to fight for.
