A little bit about me

Hi!
I’m Abby and I am a part time teacher’s assistant at an elementary school as a special education early childhood teacher’s assistant. I’ve been a teacher’s aide for 6 years and really love my position, but would like something different since I am starting my student teaching internship. I sadly had to resign my position in order to finish our my college career. I love working with children and love seeing them teach developmental milestones. My speciality is special education because I want children to become independent.
I’m in school at Grand Canyon University majoring in early childhood special education.

I was a paraprofessional for the school system in Williamson County for 6 years where I was general education 1 year and 5 years in the early childhood preschool setting.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing fine and gross motor skill practice such as sensory play and imaginative play. I can teach them social and appropriate play skills. I also enjoy reading books to children.

Being consistent, on time, and communicate clearly.

My experience with special needs children...

I had an older brother who had ASD that passed away at 28. He was super special to me and it led me to getting to love working with other children with special needs. I have 6 years of experience separate in the school system on top of living with my brother.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I was working with a family in the summer and the kids did gymnastics in the house and they would play and act silly!
