Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a tutor/mentor for a school in the Twin Cities for 2 semesters where I helped in both a 5th grade classroom and a kindergarten classroom and I was a missionary for a program that taught catechetical classes to 1st-6th graders last summer.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love being outdoors; there is a lot of joy to be had in discovering the world we live in with little ones. That said, I love walks, hikes, and sports. However, I always love a good movie day-- it's always good to rest and spend time quality time with board games and crafts.

Being able to witness and nurture the beauty of a child learning and growing.

My experience with special needs children...

My senior year of high school, I volunteered at Hills and Dales for a year in a religious education class for both children and adults who are mentally handicapped.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I was a younger babysitter, I was caring for a toddler and a newborn with my sister, and I have a distinct memory of that night just walking around with and rocking the newborn who hadn't stopped crying for a long while. But as I was holding this baby, I just remember feeling so grateful to be caring for a little one, even if it certainly proved to be a difficult night of babysitting. It was one of the first moments I distinctly remember recognizing my deep love for caring for and tending to little ones.
