A little bit about me

Hi, my name is Ms.Abby! I have approximately 10 years of childcare experience, the last 4 years being professional. I worked in an educational daycare for about 3 years, teaching kiddos from 3 months to 5 years, while I specialized in 1-2 year olds, especially my special needs friends! For the past year I have been a private nanny to a sweet little girl, who just started school. So I am looking to fill my days with new families and give a helping hand whenever and wherever I am able :)

I have always loved being around kids, they bring so much excitement and joy to your day, and when I began teaching it became very obvious this was something I’d like to do for a living, watching them hit milestones never gets old, it’s always so exciting!

I have 3 younger sisters, 6 y/o, 4 y/o, and 17 y/o, so I have been a sister nanny essentially my whole life, and wouldn’t have it any other way.

I love to be outside, playing oriented, going on walks, hanging at the park, and especially having lunch with a nice view of the outdoors! I love engaging in arts and crafts, as well as sensory activities!

The most important part about being a nanny...

It’s very important that the nanny is fully trusted by mom, dad, and the kids. Also that all parents and nanny are synced with routines, parenting styles, and most other things!

My experience with special needs children...

While working as a lead teacher I had a few kiddos who were special needs but not yet diagnosed due to their age, or lack of resources. I always advocated for those kids, and made sure their days ran just as smoothly as all their friends, giving any strategies and resources to them and their parents to do so. I also nannied shortly for a previous student who has autism in their home and helped with morning routine through nap time!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment as a nanny has been our daily walks and noticing how much my girl has grown since I started, seeing her point out new things, making new sounds, and being more interested in her surroundings!
