Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am currently a preschool aide in Clovis. Prior to this I worked at an elementary school in the afterschool program. My role here was to provide a fun, safe, and entertaining environment for the kids. I also have an 8 year old nephew that I have looked after. This means taking care of of pickup, meal prepping, homework, and bedtime.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy taking children to parks to spend more time outdoor, as well as doing fun and interactive activities indoors such as little art projects.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making a child feel safe not only physically but emotionally. Enough for them to simply ask for a hug at random or feel free to make jokes as they wish (all in a respectful manner).

My experience with special needs children...

I am currently working in a LEP class which includes high functioning autistic children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I always remember the first time I picked up my nephew from school and how his face lit up with joy seeing his aunt there to get him. This moment made me realize that although sometimes they forget to say “I love you”, their body language expresses the love and joy they feel in having you there.
