• Daycare Teacher: I worked in a daycare setting where I helped care for children ages 6 months to 11 years. I supported daily routines, planned engaging activities, and built strong bonds with the kids.

• Kids Camp Teacher: I led groups of young children in games, crafts, and indoor fun while ensuring their safety and well-being.

• Babysitter: I’ve provided care for children of various ages, from infants to elementary-aged kids.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love engaging kids in hands-on and creative activities like arts and crafts, Play-Doh, and coloring. Outdoor play is a favorite of mine—whether it’s going for walks, exploring the park, or having fun with water play on warm days (like splash pads, sprinklers, or water tables!).

I also enjoy quiet, skill-building activities like reading books, doing puzzles, and building with blocks. Imaginative play, dress-up, and pretend games help kids express themselves, and I love encouraging that kind of creativity. I aim to keep screen time minimal and help make each day feel fun, enriching, and safe.

My experience with special needs children...

I’m currently majoring in Special Education and Elementary Education, and I have hands-on experience working with children of all abilities. I’ve worked with children with autism ranging in age from 4 to 19, with varying levels of support needs. My roles have included one-on-one care, group support, and adapting activities to meet individual needs.

In high school, I was a peer tutor for students in adapted PE and life skills classes, which helped spark my passion for special education. I’m also minoring in American Sign Language (ASL) and deeply value inclusive communication.

On a personal note, one of my childhood best friends was blind and deaf, and later became nonverbal and non-mobile. Growing up with her taught me patience, empathy, and how to build strong connections with children who experience the world differently.
