A little bit about me

Hi all! My name is Addison (Addie) Purcell! I am a junior at the University of Louisville pursuing a BA in Sociology with a minor in Applied Family Sciences in hopes to become a Early Childhood Educator.
1 am currently employed at Virginia Chance School, a progressive school focused in inquiry and nature-based learning. I have fulfilled roles as a floater, substitute, and after school care worker as well as a summer camp counselor for the past two summers. Through my employment at this school, I have become familiar with various educational delivery methods that encourage whole child development, community learning, and self confidence/independence among students.
Prior to my employment at Virginia Chance, I worked for three summers as a Junior Summer Camp Counselor at 2nd Presbyterian Smiley Camp, where I developed skills for youth engagement, supervision, and management.
Outside of VCS, I have babysat regularly for several families with childrens ages ranging from 1 - 10 years old.
