A little bit about me

Hi my name is Adrianna! I am from a rather big family 2 brothers and a little sister that we adopted as a baby. Early on I became a parental figure for my little sister. Since my mom was a full time nurse and raising my brothers and I on her own I stepped up to hold the house afloat. I was able to see how important it was to take on these huge responsibilities as well as eventually finding a love for taking care of those around me. At a young age I started babysitting next door neighbors children, eventually moved up to working in summer camps, and daycares. Then, once I went to college i was granted the opportunity to work in a childcare agency where I got to work with children from all different backgrounds, ages, and from different parts of Rhode Island. Which really helped me in terms of really wanting to find the perfect agency for me where I belong and can use my skills and attributes to be an amazing employee!

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I voulenterred at the Pawtucket YMCA for afterschool care. As well I worked at the pumpkin patch which is a daycare facility. I also worked for jovie concord which is a nannying agency. And, then moved on to being a private nanny for a wonderful family in Portsmouth for 2 years until they eventually went to school full time and no longer needed me!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to do educational games with kids! Story/circle time. Going on walks together whether that be to the nearest playground or even just to play a group game in the backyard.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think what matters most about being a nanny is do everything with love and passion. One thing I feel is impoetant is to find a job that doesn’t feel like work but ultimately a job that you love and have an upmost passion for especially when you’re working with kids because they’re in your care from the moment the parents step away till the parents come back at the end of the day. And for the children to feel safe with you it’s important to be your authentic self and be present

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is when I got invited to go to a ballet recital of the child I nannied for and the moment she saw me enter the doors she lit up and became very emotional. She was so nervous to go on stage and was asking her mother and father if I would be able to make it and I surprised her and to me that had to be one of the sweetest moments because it showed me that my presence really meant something to her.
