More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been a nanny for a baby fresh off of maternity leave. I worked with that little one for about a year and a half and stopped working with her because I moved three hours away for schooling.
I have worked with a 2 year old for about a year now, it is part time so I am also working with another family part time and they have a 5 year old. I have been with them for about 2.5 years now and will only be leaving them because I am moving states.
Other older age groups, I sometime will watch my cousins during the summers and there are multiple age ranges, the oldest being 12 so I do have experience with older kids as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Natural light and fresh air is super important especially for children so I love to be outside and even if it’s a crappy day I like to get out for just a couple minutes.
I love to do arts and crafts I think it’s such a fun way for a kid to express themselves and kids always have fun things to add to my own drawings.
I love to read, kids books are especially cute. With the kid I nanny right now we read at least 3 books together and story time just gets better when they start learning to read and want to do so along with you.
Otherwise I like basic outside things, I like to hike and play sports. I have taken kids to parks and the zoo and various activities that the parents preferred and have made lots of fun out of it.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing about being a nanny to me is being present and fun and joyful. It was always especially hard for me when my parents left for work just because of how much I would miss them but the right nanny made sure that I didn’t pay attention to the fact that they were gone and instead had fun and knew that I was cared for.
I believe keeping them comfortable, letting them know that they are safe to feel what they’re feeling, keeping them safe in the physical sense, and having fun with them are all very important aspects of being a nanny.

The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment is when I’m trying to leave and the kids don’t want me to. Especially if I’m just starting with a family it feels so amazing once the kid is finally comfortable with you and trusts you. Them not wanting me to leave just tells me I’m caring for them right and they trust me enough while their parents are gone and it’s an incredible feeling.
