I’m AJ, I am sixteen years old and a junior in high school. I absolutely love kids! I have three younger siblings and another on the way. I have grown up taking care of my siblings since I was 8 years old. I am perfectly capable of cleaning and cooking as well as caring for animals if needed. I am CPR certified and extremely calm under pressure. I am still in school, however I am free in the afternoons, Fridays, as well as weekends, and overnight if needed. I have a valid drivers license and I am responsible and reliable.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to play with the kids outside. I believe outside time is great for their mental health and little bodies. We always love playing freeze dance or restaurant, where the kids make menus and pretend to order food I make for them (a fun way to get them to eat their lunch). I love reading every night before bed and singing songs to help them fall asleep.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making sure the kids are heard. A lot of adults in their rush of getting through the day and making sure the kids are fed and healthy, brush off what a kid says. They may show you a picture and you’ll merely brush it aside and pretend to be amazed. The kids can tell when you’re faking and are disappointed. Your job is to make sure they felt heard and listened to. How can you know what they’re asking for if you don’t listen to what the kid is actually saying?

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite memories has to be when I was reading to the four kids, all of us huddled up on the couch. The youngest one fell asleep on my lap and I tucked her into bed. She was the cutest thing.
