I have most recently been a Summer Camp Counselor for 2 summers (8-10-year-olds at an overnight camp). I was a Backup Nanny with a range of families - ages 9 mo. to 10 years old. I have previous babysitter experience and have volunteered at Vacation Bible School as well as classroom experience.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Working with a multilingual family on a backup basis and the toddler spoke Russian, German and Spanish but not much English. I still talked to her and used the small amount of Spanish and German I knew but still mostly English. I was singing a few nursery songs as we played and she began to sing along as she previously knew it! That was a great moment.
